Coal Country Animal Rescue has been in operation since 2012, formally known as M&M Pet Rescue. We have been providing assistance, veterinary care, and shelter to over 200+ animals a year in Mercer County and surrounding areas.

It is our mission to leave no animal behind to suffer. We get phone calls, texts, emails and messages every day about animals in need and we are ending up having to turn more and more of them away, simply because we do not have the funds or the housing for them, and the need is ever growing with the overpopulation of unwanted pets. The unfortunate reality of the situation is that these poor animals end up dumped to fend for themselves. By the time rescues can get to these animal some are so sick, hurt, and scared they can take months of veterinary care and foster care to heal and learn to trust again before they are ready to be adopted. This process is very lengthy and very expensive. To keep our rescue functional, feed animals in need, help our local community with snap certificates (spay/neuter assistance program) and offer crucial veterinary care our rescue needs to raise $70,000 annually. The demands on the rescue are increasing exponentially year after year.

We depend on the support of community members like you to help us provide for our animals in need. We do not have a shelter building; we depend on volunteer fosters to help house our animals in need. We depend on our fosters to give a loving and stable home to our animals. With the help of fosters and donations from our community we can help these animals find their forever homes. On average we normally have between 30-50 animals at all times to provide for, relying solely on grants, donations, and adoption fees to continue saving lives.
